Is Ovation registered with the FDA?
Yes, Ovation is listed with the FDA under Aretech’s registration number (3007797030).
Can a therapy session on Ovation be billed to healthcare providers and Medicare?
Yes. Ovation is simply providing a safer environment for the therapist to perform treatment, so they would bill based on what they are doing as if they weren’t using Ovation. For example, if a therapist is working on gait, then it is billed as gait training. If a therapist is working on sit-to-stand or lunges it could be billed as therapeutic activities.
What is the difference between Ovation and other treadmills with offloading capabilities?
Ovation is a high-tech system using a medical grade treadmill that provides dynamic body-weight support via robotic controls with adjustable fall prevention and an Infotainment Display mounted to the front post. Ovation’s computer controlled dynamic BWS automatically moves vertically with the subject, so they only feel unloading from above. If the subject were to fall, the DualArrest fall prevention stops the fall and treadmill simultaneously.
The Launchpad is unique to Ovation. The Launchpad raises and lowers from the floor to the treadmill deck for embarking and disembarking for those unable to step up onto the landing, for example those using a wheelchair.
The Infotainment Display shows virtual walks, vistas and rotating images while the header shows performance measures.
What is the heaviest individual that can use Ovation?
The heaviest person that can use Ovation is 700 lbs.
How much body-weight support can Ovation provide a patient?
Ovation has two unloading modes. In static body-weight support, the position of the patient is fixed so they are restricted from moving downwards. Ovation can provide up to 700 lbs. of static support. In dynamic body-weight support, the patient can move freely up and down while the level of support stays constant. Ovation provides between 25-300 lbs. of dynamic support.
How is Ovation controlled?
Ovation can be controlled from the touchscreen computer or from the wireless tablet
What type of treadmill comes with Ovation?
Ovation uses a medical grade slat-belt treadmill with a rubber surface that provides the highest level of comfort and durability.
What data does Ovation record from each training session?
The Ovation software contains a SQL database that is password encrypted. For each training session, important clinical measures are recorded such as distance walked, training minutes, falls prevented, and the minimum and maximum body-weight support. Depending on other metrics selected during the session this can include heart rate, SpO2, etc.
What is the elevation range of the treadmill on Ovation?
The treadmill inclination goes up to 7% in increments of 1%. This is helpful because patients can practice walking uphill, or if the belt speed is reversed and the patient faces the back of the treadmill, they can practice walking downhill.
Does Ovation come with seating?
Therapist seating with footplates is an optional accessory for those therapists who would like to manually assist the patient.
What is the weight capacity of the Launchpad?
The Launchpad has a weight capacity of 1,000 lbs.
How long does it normally take to install Ovation?
On average, it takes about 1 day to install the Ovation system in the customer’s facility. We require the area where the system will be installed is closed off for safety reasons. We work closely with the clinical staff to try and minimize the inconvenience to the staff during the installation process.
When does training occur?
After the system is installed and tested in a customer’s facility, Aretech will schedule therapist training. Ovation onsite training normally takes 4-6 hours.
